Hello beautiful people!
This blogpost might be my favourite one so far. First of all it involves chocolate and second of all it involves strawberries. Talking about the perfect combination? Okay, okay I hear you say, it’s not the healthiest dessert but it definitely is one of the most easy and most delicious desserts in the whoooole wide world. Admit it! Can we actually call this a proper dessert? I don’t think so…you can eat it all day long! If it’s not as a dessert it could be eaten as a snack or even be given as a gift to someone, did I mention breakfast? Imagine that!!
I hope I got you hungry now because we’re about to start..
- Strawberries – the big ones
- 200 grams of chocolate – dark or milk
- 120 grams of white chocolate – to top it off
- A saucepan or casserole
- 2 glass bowls
- 2 (wooden) spoons
- a tray or large plate
Fill the saucepan or casserole with water so when you put the glass bowl in it, the flat side of the bowl is in the water. This term is called ‘au bain marie’. You then put the dark or milk chocolate in the bowl in chuncks. Let the water heat up, don’t let it boil and continuously stir the chocolate until it’s fully melted. Repeat as well for the white chocolate, in a different bowl of course.
ATTENTION! don’t let the chocolate cool down before you use it.
Dip the strawberries in the dark or milk chocolate and put them on a tray/plate. Make sure they don’t move places too much.
After you melted the white chocolate, which as you can see I didn’t do ‘au bain marie’, you take a spoon and make a nice pattern with the white chocolate on the strawberries. This is the dirty work so don’t be afraid if it smudges, the taste is what counts.
*add some sprinkles if you like
Put them in the frigde, and done!
I’m sure you know what to do with that left over chocolate ;).
