My Sweet 16

Hello lovely people!

As I’m writing this it’s June 30th and yesterday, I had the time of my life. I celebrated my 16th birthday with all the people who mean the most to me, so dear friends of mine, if you’re reading this, I love you very much <3.

I must say I’m an early bird when it comes to exciting things like birthdays, I had been planning my party since February, I know I know 5 months is a lot. But it was totally worth it!! I’m going to tell you all about what I did and how it was and I hope you enjoy.

Preparation

In order for everything to be perfect I had to prepare lots of things. The food, the decoration, the invitations, balloons and most importantly the location. Speaking of the location, it was PERFECT! It was some sort of porch, it was inside but also kind of outside…you know what I mean right? The outside bit had sand which was perfect for my theme! Oh right my theme, almost forgot to mention, was Tropical. It was the beginning of our summer break so why not right? Everthing and everyone had to be full of colour, it was so amazing!

I also made some arrows to make it easier to find where the party was. I first made the arrow in Word and printed it out, then glued it on cardboard and cut it out. I also pricked some holes in there to attach some string so I could tie it around poles (did that after the picture shown below).

Decoration

For my decoration I didn’t want it to be too much so I simply went for tropical fruit such as pineapples and coconuts but I also hung up some stuff, had balloons all over the place, some inflateable stuff.. I also had these massive balloons with ’16’!! I just had to have those!! Aaaaaaaand I also kind of got a palmtree, oops haha. It wasn’t a real one but you can’t tell! Shout out to the person who made this for me!

I also thought it’d be funny to blow bubbles because it first of all looked amazing and second of all, it’s so much fun!!

Food

Something we can’t miss right? I went for pizza hawaii, because you know, hawaii- tropical… okay you get it. I also made some fruitsticks with watermelon (!!!), grapes and pineapple.. sooo delicious! We also ordered some mini cakes from our local bakery and let me tell you, those were heaven on earth!!!

 Party

The party started at 7pm and was supposed to end 1am but as you can probably imagine, some of my friends didn’t want to go home sooooo it was 2am but hey you won’t hear me complain!

Due a lot of traffic not everyone could make it in time, like my DJ.. kind of annoying but it all worked out anyway. My guests were looking so beautiful and gave me the loveliest presents in the whole entire world so thank you all so so so so so so so so much and I love you all sooooooooo much as well ❤ ❤ !! When they entered I offered them a nice cocktail and a hawaii wreath just to get in that tropical mood that was flowing in the air.

As you all know, parties are getting nicer when it gets dark outside, so I waited until it was pitch black to get out the little bonfires and have marshmallows!!! To be honest, that was, to me, the nicest thing of the whole evening.

I sincerely had the time of my life and want to thank every single person who attended and helped me in any kind of way!!
