Christmas Pinterest DIYs

Hello everyone! And Merry Christmas to you!

I ABSOLUTELY love this time of the year, I’m basically looking forward to it since last Christmas. So therefore I decided to try out some Pinterest DIYs that you guys can also recreate, sounds fun right? I picked out 2 different things (that both envolve chocolate) and it’s very cheap to make them as well. So first of I chose to make ‘chocolate reindeer treats’ because they looked so cute and I was really excited to try them out, here is how you recreate them:

Chocolate Reindeer Treats

~ Ingredients ~ 8 pieces ~

  • 150 grams of chocolate ( I used milk chocolate but you can use any kind)
  • Big marshmallows
  • Red MnMs or Smarties
  • Pretzels
  • Wooden sticks

As you can see I also used jars but that’s simply to balance the marshmallows on the sticks.

~ How To ~

Step 1

Prick your sticks into the marshmallows and make sure they don’t come out on the other side.

Step 2

Cut the pretzels in half, this way you create the antlers of the reindeer. You can also try and break them in half but there’s a bigger chance you’re going to fully break them instead.

Step 3

Heat up a pan with a little bit of water in there and let it boil. You just need to place a glass bowl that fits on your pan on top of the pan and put your chocolate in there in chuncks. Stir every now and then when it’s melting to avoid burning. (admit it who wants burnt chocolate?!)

Step 4

Coat the marshmallows in chocolate by using your spoon. Make sure not to over-coat them because it will take much longer for them to set.

Step 5

Let them set in a cool place for about 30 minutes. The chocolate will now mostly have dried and that’s the way it has to be because…

Step 6

You now want to start and make them look like reindeers!! The fun part! As the chocolate is now sticky it’s perfect to stick the nose on there just by pushing it lighty at the front of the marshmallow. Then I cut some pieces off of another marshmallow to create the eyes which you stick on top of its head, the eyes you can draw on with a toothpick that you stuck into the chocolate. Last but not least you gently poke the antlers aka pretzels on to his head. You can of course work in a different order. And DONE!

The next DIY is something everyone can make and it’s also great if you don’t have an idea for someone’s christmas present yet. It’s delicious, it’s easy and here is how you make it:

Hot Chocolate Gift Idea

~ Ingredients ~

  • Cocoa powder
  • MnMs/ Smarties
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Mini candy cane
  • Any other little sweets of your choice
  • Glass pot (or anything else that does the job)
  • Festive straws
  • Washi tape
  • Some string

~ How To ~

Step 1

Spoon in about 5-8 spoons of the cocoa powder, depending on how much chocolate you want in your hot chocolate, you also don’t want the glass to be fully filled with cocoa powder.

Step 2

Add in the MnMs or Smarties on top of the cocoa powder.

Do the same with the mini marshmallows and stick in the straw and candy cane.

You’re basically done now! You only need the little pot to be more festive.

Step 3

Decorating is the message. I used washi tape and some string here but you can choose whatever you want to make it look nice. You can also add for example a cinnamon stick, some extra chocolate on top, maybe some white chocolate, you can put a gift tag on there, as I said, it’s all up to you.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed this post and that you will enjoy these creations. If you recreate them you may definitely tweet me or instagram me, those links are on your right side of the screen.

Merry Christmas!
